South Louisiana Engagement Session at Lake Martin

I’m so excited to share this South Louisiana engagement session with you! I first met Miranda and Beau months ago at Lake Martin in St. Martinville, Louisiana when they agreed to be my models for a couple’s photoshoot. I was so giddy watching them together because it was so obvious how in love they were.

They met on New Year’s Eve in 2024 at a friend’s house where they chatted fireside. There was no exchange of numbers, but 30 minutes after Miranda left, she got a text from Beau saying he “made” someone give him her number. That’s how it all started. She thought he was a nice guy and he thought she was easy to talk to, so they agreed to go on their first date two days later. They were both so nervous, they barely ate. But they also spent the majority of the time talking and getting to know one another. One week later, they become “official.” He knew that week that Miranda was the one!

They both enjoy being on the water…whether fishing, listening to the ocean waves at the beach, or just sitting lakeside enjoying each other’s company. They just love being together. She really appreciates being able to talk to him…like REALLY talk to him. He listens. He balances her out in a way she thought no one ever could, and he SEES her. He can tell when she’s overwhelmed or stressed; and he knows exactly how to bring her a sense of calmness. Not to mention how he makes her laugh! Not just a soft smile and a quiet giggle…like full belly, lose your breath, crying, almost pee in your pants kind of laugh. Ladies, I know you’re swooning and praying this kind of love finds you…so let’s get to the proposal!

Beau proposed on December 20th, 2025 at a family Christmas party. With his cousin as his sidekick (it must have killed her to keep that secret!), he was smooth about it. His cousin had all the couples take pictures kissing under the mistletoe and had Miranda and Beau go last. Miranda could tell he was nervous, but he also hates taking pictures. So, she didn’t think anything of it. After taking a few pictures, she turned to face him and there he was…down on one knee…gorgeous ring in hand! She doesn’t even remember him actually asking her to marry him. She just said, “SHUT UP!” Of course she was elated and said “YES!”

A few months later, Miranda reached out to me again about doing their South Louisiana engagement session, and of course, I was elated! The best compliment a photographer can receive is when a client comes back for another session. Miranda couldn’t wait to have their love captured on camera again so they can cherish those moments forever. They chose Lake Martin for their session, and as always, it did not disappoint. It was right before sunset on the most gorgeous day, so the sky and the trees were showing off. But nothing could outshine these two. Every time they looked in each other’s eyes or held one another close, you could just feel the love between them. They talked. They laughed. They enjoyed the special moments. I couldn’t wait to get home to edit their photos.
